A question on cork flooring

Q. We want to redo our kitchen with cork
flooring. A contractor told us we should not place it
under appliances because they are too heavy. He told us to
run it only to the base of the cabinets but I don't know how
this will look. Any suggestions?
A: You can do cork flooring a few different ways.
You can install it up to the cabinets edge and then stop and
start again, which leaves the part under the appliances unattached
to the mail floor. That usually seems to work pretty well.
It can also depend on the type of floor.
