bamboo flooring discoloring

Added February 13th, 2006

Q. Nine months ago I had bamboo flooring installed and now it is discoloring, changing to a grey/green color. There are only 2 areas where they do not have mats over them. The rest looks great. Any ideas?

A: It sounds like a moisture problem Maybe moisture is getting in under the door threshold. This issues needs to be addressed. You can try a bad of silicone caulk under the threshold to try and stop it. If you don't want to removed the affected areas, then you can cover them with a rug.
