Bamboo flooring on concrete

Q. I am planning to install bamboo
flooring in my garage on a concrete floor in an attempt
to make a dance studio for my daughter. I need advice on a
good sealer and glue that will work together. Thanks.
A: You should not use a concrete sealer at all, because
they can lead to adhesion problems. Bamboo can be installed
on concrete as long as the concrete is above grade. The floor
should be flat, clean, and most importantly dry. Testing should
be done to produce the proper moisture content. Although bamboo
is more stable than wood flooring, it is still susceptible
to moisture. Never use water or solvent based adhesives, as
this can lead to buckling or warping. Also, urethane adhesive
may fail due to concrete vapor emissions. Follow the manufacturers
instructions.
